P88 Countries Lead National CBRN Medical Trainings, Marking Key Milestone in Project Sustainability

In May and June 2025, four P88 partner countries, Albania, Armenia, Montenegro, and North Macedonia, successfully organized national trainings in Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) emergency medicine. The key achievement: each training was conducted by local Master Trainers, demonstrating the lasting impact and sustainability of EU CBRN CoE Project 88.
While the Science and Technology Center in Ukraine (STCU), with financial support from the European Commission, facilitated logistical support and coordination, the training content, delivery, and leadership came entirely from national teams. This shift toward self-sustained national ownership illustrates the long-term effectiveness of the project’s capacity-building model.
Local medical emergency personnel, including first responders, hospital staff, and emergency managers, participated in highly practical sessions featuring scenario-based simulations. These exercises allowed professionals to apply technical knowledge in realistic environments, fostering inter-agency coordination and readiness.
In Albania, Armenia, Montenegro, and North Macedonia, national training institutions led the events in cooperation with public health bodies and emergency medical centers. Each training addressed national CBRN medical preparedness needs while contributing to a regional culture of resilience.
By entrusting local trainers and institutions to lead these complex trainings, P88 partners have demonstrated that the project’s results are not only institutionalized but scalable. This local initiative, backed by international support, ensures long-term sustainability and a stronger, more unified regional response to CBRN threats.
